Running a Speed Test

Created by Bite Ninja Support, Modified on Wed, 16 Nov, 2022 at 12:06 PM by Bite Ninja Support

You are required to submit the results of a speed test upon signing up to become a ninja. You will not be assigned to a restaurant without proof of adequate internet speed.

Bite Ninja requires a minimum of 40 mbps download and 20 mbps upload speeds in order to work shifts.

Step 1: Click here to run your speed test.

Step 2: Click the button to begin:

Step 3: A pop up will appear and begin conducting the speed test. It will take approximately 30 seconds to complete. Once finished, you will see your internet’s download and upload speeds:

Congratulations! You have conducted an Internet Speed Test!

Step 4: Take a screenshot of the results, with the date and time visible. Upload the results to your Bite Ninja account. See article: Edit Profile for additional help.

“What if my speed test results are too slow?”

  • You cannot be assigned to a restaurant or begin training until your internet speed is sufficient.

“How can I improve my internet speed?”

  • You can move closer to your router if possible. Stop any ongoing downloads, and shut down any programs that may be using your connection, such as streaming devices. However, be aware that these would need to be off any time you are working.
  • You can also attempt the speed test with an ethernet cable. Again, you would then need to work with the cable connected at all times.
  • Of course, you can also upgrade your internet package. Be aware that you may be periodically asked to re-run a speed test for troubleshooting purposes, so please don’t attempt any temporary measures to pass your speed test.

If the speed test window is not opening after you click to begin…

  • Check to see if you have pop-ups blocked in your internet browser. If you have them blocked, the speed test may not be able to open. If this occurs, unblock pop-ups temporarily to display the speed test page.
  • If this doesn’t work, other sites have speed tests that will also be acceptable. Just make sure that the results display both download and upload speeds.
