Zoom Settings: Audio

Zoom will automatically connect when you join your shifts through the Bite Ninja app. However, there are some settings that you will need to adjust on your own Zoom app to work efficiently.

Step 1: Open your Zoom app and navigate to settings by clicking the gear icon:

Step 2: Click on Audio Settings.

Step 3: Scroll down to “Audio Profile” and select “Zoom optimized audio.” Then, select “Low” for background noise suppression:

Step 2: Then, click on “Original sound,” and check the box for “Echo cancellation.”

While on shift, make sure that you always have “Original Sound” set to ON (it will be at the top of your screen):

Step 3: Other audio settings…

We recommend checking “Mute my microphone when joining a meeting.” This will help avoid any accidental background noise during shift change.

If you leave the first setting unchecked (recommended), you will just have to click an extra pop up button to “join with audio” each time you join a shift.

“Where can I find these settings when I’m already on shift/in a Zoom meeting?”

  • Find the audio symbol on your Zoom toolbar. If you are connected to audio, you should see a microphone symbol with the words “Mute” or “Unmute” (depending on your settings, the toolbar will either be fixed at the bottom of your screen, or floating). Click on the arrow, then select “Audio Settings.”

If you are having trouble with your speaker/microphone volume or connection:

  • Navigate to your audio settings. At the top, you can view which speaker and microphone is currently being used by Zoom. Always check this first when using a headset. If the audio settings did not default to your headset, you will either be unable to hear anything, or the customer display won’t pick up your voice.
  • You can also test your headset microphone or speaker prior to your shift, if you have any concerns about your audio quality:
