Publishing Shifts

Follow these directions if you have shifts that need to be published from your pre-created shift template. Restaurant managers will have a weekly deadline to confirm and publish their pre-created shifts.

If you need to create AND publish a shift, please see article: Create a Shift

Step 1: Click the Shifts tab on the portal menu, then select Unpublished from the drop-down options:

Step 2: Find your shift(s) in the unpublished list. You can apply filters if needed (date range, restaurant, location, department, price range, time). Check the box next to the shift’s ID number.

You can select all unpublished shifts by clicking the top box, next to “Shift ID.”

Step 3: Select “Publish” at the top right of the shift list, then confirm:

Your shift(s) will now be available for Ninja bids!

“I created a shift, but now I can’t find it on the list. What should I do?”

  • Check to make sure the correct date range is selected. Oftentimes the date range will be automatically set to the present week. If you refresh the page, it will also revert back to the present week. If you created a shift beyond that, you may need to change the date range:

  • If the “Reset Filters” button is orange, you can also click that to erase any previously selected filters:

  • If you have checked both items and still cannot find your shifts, please submit a support ticket or contact the CSS team for assistance.

“I know our Ninja schedule will remain the same for the next few months at least. Do I have to publish my shifts weekly, or can I do it all at once?”

  • You don’t have to wait to publish your shifts! The weekly option is available for managers who rely on weekly labor data to create their schedule, who make frequent changes to their set schedule, etc. You are free to publish your shifts as far ahead as you see fit.

“The restaurant charge doesn’t look correct on my shift. What should I do?”

  • Please report any inaccuracies in the shift charge calculations to Bite Ninja Support. The numbers are created automatically by the app based on the shift time. If there is an issue, we will get it corrected immediately.

If you are receiving an error message when attempting to publish shifts…

  • You may have to attempt a hard reset of the browser page. Please see this article for more information: Hard Reset/Clearing Cache
  • If that does not resolve the issue, you can submit a support ticket. If it is time-sensitive, reach out to the CSS team in the app or your account manager.

If you would like to edit the shift (i.e. start time) before publishing it….

  • Find the shift on the Unpublished list. Click on the “Edit” icon to the far right. Now, you will be able to edit any aspects of the shift- other than restaurant charge/Ninja wage. Once you are finished, click the “Save” button to save your changes.
