Uploading W-9 and ID

THIS INFORMATION IS NOW STORED IN PAYCHEX, OUR APPLICATION & ONBOARDING PLATFORM. YOU NO LONGER NEED TO UPLOAD YOUR W-9 OR ID TO THE BITE NINJA APP.

WE ARE WORKING DILLIGENTLY TO REMOVE THESE FIELDS FROM THE PROFILE OPTIONS!

If you are prompted to add your W-9 or ID while editing your profile, feel free to upload a blank form or photo.

If you haven't done so, please apply for the Ninja position here: Become a Ninja

If you are here from Paychex and are having issues uploading your ID, please be sure to check the file type you are using. Only certain file types are accepted. You are also unable to use a mobile device during this portion of the onboarding process.

Access your profile: If you have just registered, a window will pop up prompting you to upload your W-9 form and ID proof. Clicking OKAY will bring you to your profile page. 

You can also access it by clicking the My Profile button in the orange navigational menu:

OR, you can click the “person” symbol on the top right corner of the dashboard page. In the dropdown menu, click on Profile:

You will be taken to your Profile page:

Edit your profile: Click on the “edit” symbol on the top right corner, next to the red (or green, if you have changed your settings) notification buttons. It looks like a pencil and paper:

Upload your documents: Scroll down past the informational fields, until you see the W9 Form and ID Proof boxes.

ID PROOF: You must have a photo of your ID saved to your device. Click to upload the photo. 

W-9 FORM: Follow the instructions below.

1. Click on the orange link. This will bring you to a separate form, where you will fill out all of the necessary information. The form will give you some hints that will be helpful if you are unfamiliar with a W9.

2. Once you get to the bottom, DO NOT click Submit. Click Preview PDF first to ensure everything is filled out correctly:

3. If you are satisfied with your entries, download the form to your computer as a PDF file. Click the download symbol (arrow facing down) on the top right corner:

4. Open the PDF and save to your computer. Be sure to remember the name of the file, and which folder you save it to.

5. Go back to your profile. Click to upload the PDF file.

If it is successfully uploaded, you will no longer see “Click or drag to this area to upload PDF format.” Hover over the box, and you should see an eye symbol to view or a trash can symbol to delete:

6. IMPORTANT! BE SURE TO CLICK “SAVE” IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER. EVEN IF YOU SUCCESSFULLY UPLOADED YOUR W-9 AND ID, IT WILL NOT SAVE TO YOUR PROFILE AUTOMATICALLY. 

“What is a W-9?”

• IRS Form W-9 is used by businesses to collect tax information from external parties- in the case of Bite Ninja, from the independent contractors we call Ninjas. This is necessary in order for you to get paid for your services. For more information, you can click here.

“Why do you need proof of ID?”

• We require proof of identification from all Ninjas. This is to verify that you are over the age of 18, and to also verify that you reside in a US state that we can currently contract Ninjas from. Rest assured that your information will be securely stored and will NEVER be shared with any third parties.

If you are unable to click Save after uploading your W-9 and ID...

• Check to make sure that all required informational fields are filled out. Scroll up to the top and check for any boxes that are highlighted red or contain red text beneath- this indicates that you are missing required information (Note- you will be unable to edit your email or phone number. Please see this article for more information: Edit Your Profile)
